Loch Arts

Music

Each class participates in a weekly music lesson. Students learn practical skills and theory knowledge. Choir is available for both junior and senior students and performances occur regularly throughout the year. Students may select to participate in individual or small group instrumental lessons. These lessons are charged as an additional fee. Instruments available include: keyboard, guitar, flute, voice and drums. Students in Years 5 & 6 also are provided with the opportunity to participate in a three day music camp with other students in our network in Term 4.

Visual Art

The Visual Art specialist program provides the children with the opportunity and experience to communicate their creative thoughts and to develop and extend their individual artistic skills. Students participate in weekly lessons with a focus on drawing, painting and creating in a range of mediums. An Arts Showcase evening is held each year to present art works created by students. Students are also encouraged to enter their own art works in a number of art show competitions throughout the year. A specialist art teacher takes classes each week and supervises a lunchtime Art Club and offers after school lessons.

Performing Arts

A highlight of each semester is the opportunity for our performance evenings. We build confidence and resilience by encouraging all of our students to perform and take part in our special events. We host an Oratory Evening of public speaking, a ‘Poets on Parade Evening’ where students present dramatizations of poems and an End of Year Celebration Concert. Students regularly perform at assemblies and are invited to contribute their own performance ideas.
