Our teachers deliver evidence based and effective literacy programs consistently across all year levels. We believe that strong literacy skills underpin all learning and work wth determination to ensure all of our students develop sound reading, writing and spelling skills. Teachers include strong phonological awareness activities, explicit teaching of the alphabetic code and spelling rules. Reading is taught in a systematic and explicit manner using decodable readers. All classes use the Big Write Program. Our school’s approach to early intervention, student profiling, explicit and repetitive instruction and the provision of support – the combination of which has delivered significant outcomes.
